A series of six digital illustrations illustrating the title; done as part of the Guerrilla Studio, Siggraph 2006. The sixth piece was chosen for a hand-bound limited-edition book on Dreams, and was exhibited at the Global Eyes gallery in Siggraph 2007. The illustrations were accompanied by the following pieces of text.
Look at you. Yes. You. You that’s cowering in that corner of reality. A misshapen thought. A misguided imagination. A fruit of dreams incorrectly dreamt. Stop that sniveling. Stop. And dream once more. And try to make it better this time.
Come here. Let me see what you’ve made of your illusions now. You do know that they’re all illusions, don’t you? Shut your eyes and try to see them. Do you? Can you? Told you so: they’re all illusions. What’ll you believe in now?
You really do believe in what you see. You are so easily beguiled. I like you.
No. Try harder. Harder still. You are giving up? Already? How’ll you ever catch me then? How’ll you ever face what you call reality without me?
Wings. I keep telling you that you need wings, and you ignore me. You ignored me when I said you needed me too. Believe me, you really can’t do without wings.
I said I liked you. I’ll give you another chance. Let’s meet tonight, when the sky is a blob of ink lit with fireworks of golden starbursts, and I’ll show you what it is to fly.
